Sixth Slovenian LEGO Trial Truck meeting, Ljubljana -
May 25th 2012
The weather on a friday afternoon was almost perfect, not to hot and no rain before we finished. Seven drivers (Blaz62, Cwetqo, Povratnik, Rokstar, Stari89, Subix and Bpavsic) brought their models to the edge of their abilities.
The track wasn't too hard because we wanted all of the players to experience the full run and to learn as much as possible for the next competition. The biggest surprise was provided by Rokstar, whos small but very quick and agile truck easily took the second place. Our longtime competitor Stari89, who drove almost flawlessly the entire track and in the end won with quite some time to spare. The most problems with his truck had Povratnik, who had to resign from race and sadly didn't finish.
Since everyone finished quite early, we tried out the trucks rock climbing abilities. Two trucks (driven by Stari89 and bpavsic) especially stood out.
For the first time we ruthlessly penalized every time a truck touched a gate with additional 30 seconds (penalty before was 10 seconds). In the past some drivers just drove over the gates, not really trying to go through without a touch, while others backed up a couple of times (which cost them more then the penalty). In the end we agreed that this penalties were much better and provided more fun to the driving.
Next race is planned for the end of august when most are already back from their summer vacation and the weather is still stable enough.
