Another couple of months have passed, winter was over and the spring brought the "08. KockeFest - pomlad 2012". It was in the middle of april, saturday 14.4 from 10:00 - 18:00 and sunday 15.4 from 10:00 - 15:00 to be exact. The place was again the grammar school Koseze in Ljubljana.
We would like to thank all sponsors that helped KockeFest to continue the path of success and invite them all to support us in the future. Furthermore, we would like to thank all the participants and visitors that were a part of this event. The estimated visitors count was more then 7000 on both days together.
As usual, we had a model of an town center with the train tracks going around it. Another part of the town - the ocean/beach part - was connected to the town center with a beautifull bridge. There was a rescue team helping the passengers from an emergency landed plane at the shore and minifigs from the nearby seaside cottages and the pier closely watched the rescue and even helped a bit. The space diorama featured a hemisphere (dome), with 1m diameter, covering the planet's space base and a monorail. It also had some PF controled transport vehicles, two bigger spaceships and some smaller air and ground vehicles. A well known castle from our country had it's premiere on this event. It was the castle Snežnik and featured fantastic details with fairytale medieval life like royalty, knights, peasants and wizzardry. The castle had 2 more replicas in micro and "nano" version. Of course we didn't forget about out little visitors. We surprised them with a DUPLO town with a train, city centre, soccer stadium, zoo and industrial part. For the more demanding visitors we prepared multiple NXT powered robots that were taking over the NXT stand. A special display was reserved for the LEGO Pirates which included every single Pirates set that LEGO ever produced.
A new feature was a Technic GBC (Great Ball Contraption) with conveyors and slides. Next to that was a display with Technic TT trucks, trucks, cranes and all other construction vehicles. Everyone that looked up, could noticed a gondola/ski lift that moved from one side to the other, hanging only on a thread.
Another new feature were multiple smaller dioramas that showed a BlackTron spaceport with multiple vehicles, a London style city outtake with a train station, old steam train and street underpass and last but not least, a LEGO Friends diorama, made from OOB sets and customized into Heartlake City.
There was a playground where the younger visitors could play with system and DUPLO bricks. Children could draw and color the LEGO coloring books.
In the local LUG corner, there was a raffle where every lottery ticket was a winning one. Visitors could buy new and used LEGO bricks for bargain prices.
